Hi, there are a few things I do 1 - before making any modal I strip the existing paint of down to bare in painted lead 2 - to change the shape of a base figure I use milliputt which is great in shaping the mould you want, it's a 2 PAC putty so will Harding over 24 hours... 3 - alot of the time I use craft knives which are great for carving the lead and even the putty.. All this takes practice... Last of all I use games work shop water based paint.. If you need any more advice just askthanks chris
